WEEK 1 (JULY 10-14): PLAY!
Flying through the air, appearing and disappearing on alien planets and in magical kingdoms, shrinking down and swimming in a fish tank… your imagination is the only limit! “Bluescreen It” is a weeklong workshop exploring blue/green screen digital technology and its applications. The students can work with a green screen studio setup and use materials such as green screen paint and costumes to create their own magical movies. This hands-on workshop is an exercise in storytelling that allows for imaginative scenarios and experimentation. Students will be encouraged to collaborate and participate in every stage of their movie production.
WEEK 2 (JULY 17-21): MAKE!
Make your imagination come to life! Campers will brainstorm wacky inventions and zany creatures through a variety of makerspace tools. Campers will experiment with circuitry to create puppets and use 3D printers to design the characters of their dreams.
WEEK 3 (JULY 24-28): GO!
Robots run, robots go! Campers will learn and explore the many abilities of robots. Through experimentation with sensors and motors, campers will learn how to build and program their robots in many different ways.
TECH FORT GREENE Summer 2017
PLAY, MAKE, GO!
Campers in rising grades 2-5 will join us for a 3 week mini camp from July 10-28, 2017.
Founded and Directed by our Curriculum Director, Chloe Taylor, Tech Fort Greene is a fun and interactive technology day camp located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We believe in empowering children with the tools they need to bring their imagination to life. Tech Fort Greene campers will explore and experiment with circuits and 3D printing, program their own robots, and design their own short films using green screen technology. Our program aims to teach children the foundations of computational thinking through experimentation and discovery. Campers will have hands-on time with Little Bits circuits, Bee Bots and Lego Education software, and will learn the basics of Scratch, an introductory programming language.
There are many STEM programs in NYC, but our curriculum and approach are truly unique because we recognize that youth competence in technology derives from creative fun. When children work together in an easygoing community of active learners to construct operational devices inspired by their own imaginations, they gain aptitude and fluency in tech.

WEEK 1 (August 1-5): CIRCUIT FUN!
CAMPERs will EXPLORE HOW CIRCUITS WORK AND WILL BUILD THEIR OWN. EACH CAMPER WILL USE MOTORS, LIGHTS, SENSORS AND SWITCHES TO BRING THEIR MOST CREATIVE IDEAS TO LIFE.
WEEK 2 (August 8-12): TOTAL ROBOT TAKEOVER!
WE LOVE ROBOTS! OUR CAMPERS WILL LEARN ABOUT THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ROBOTICS THROUGH LEGO EDUCATION. THEY WILL DESIGN AND COMPETE IN CHALLENGES THAT TEACH HOW ROBOTS SENSE AND ACT.
WEEK 3 (August 15-19): CRACK THE CODE!
